Kokou Douffan reveals the impact of psychosocial capital on female entrepreneurship in Togo

Female entrepreneurship in Togo is rapidly expanding, representing 32% of business creations in 2020. However, complex social and psychological dynamics often hinder this development. Kokou Douffan's thesis explores how psychosocial capital influences the strategic capabilities of women entrepreneurs, raising questions about the conditions for their success in a context of gender inequalities.

The study used a mixed methodology, combining qualitative and quantitative analyses, with the MACES model adapted to Togo. By interviewing 294 female entrepreneurs, the results show that psychosocial capital is crucial for entrepreneurial success. Women benefiting from strong psychosocial support have significantly better performance, highlighting the importance of these networks.

The results of this research pave the way for support programs for female entrepreneurs in Togo, thereby strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Decision-makers are encouraged to invest in initiatives that support this group, fostering not only financial returns but also a more inclusive and dynamic environment for entrepreneurship.
