TERMS & CONDITIONS

Terms of Use

Effective as of 2026

Article 1 — Purpose

These Terms of Use (herein "Terms") govern the access and use of the Lektaris website (herein "the Site"), operated by ATLAS (herein "the Publisher").

Lektaris is an economic intelligence service that produces original editorial syntheses from African academic research, for the benefit of economic, institutional, and political decision-makers.

Any use of the Site implies full acceptance of these Terms.

Article 2 — Service Access

2.1 Free Content

Part of the Site's contents are freely accessible without registration: presentation of thematic domains, access to certain catalog articles, monthly reports in preview.

2.2 Decision Circle Access

Full access to executive briefs, PDF exports, and archives is reserved for members of the Decision Circle on subscription. The subscription is personal and non-transferable.

Authentication is performed via a secure single-use link (magic link) sent to the member's email address. This link expires 15 minutes after being sent.

2.3 Availability

The Publisher endeavors to keep the Site accessible 24/7. Interruptions for maintenance may occur without notice. The Publisher shall not be liable for any temporary unavailability.

Article 3 — Intellectual Property of Content

3.1 Lektaris Original Works

All content produced by Lektaris — executive briefs, syntheses, editorial analyses, selection and organization of information, formatting — constitute original intellectual works protected by:

  • French Intellectual Property Code, including Articles L111-1 et seq. relating to copyright;
  • Benin law n°2004-05 of January 14, 2004 on the protection of copyright, related rights and folklore expressions in the Republic of Benin;
  • The Revised Bangui Agreement (1999) of the African Organization for Intellectual Property (OAPI), of which Benin is a member.

3.2 Authorized Use

The Decision Circle member benefits from a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable license to:

  • Consult contents on the Site;
  • Download and use PDF exports for internal professional purposes;
  • Quote brief excerpts from briefs, with explicit mention of the source "Lektaris by ATLAS" and link to the Site.

3.3 Prohibited Uses

The following are strictly prohibited without prior written authorization from the Publisher:

  • Complete or substantial reproduction of any brief or synthesis;
  • Resale, redistribution, or making content available to third parties;
  • Use of content for paid training or teaching purposes;
  • Automated scraping or database extraction.

3.4 Cited Academic Sources

The academic works cited or summarized in the briefs are mentioned with their authors, institutions and sources in accordance with citation law. The source theses and articles are not reproduced but synthesized originally. For more details, see our Sources & Methods.

Article 4 — User Obligations

The user undertakes to:

  • Not use the Site for unlawful or prohibited purposes;
  • Not share their access credentials;
  • Not attempt to circumvent the Site's technical protections;
  • Report to the Publisher any fraudulent use of their account at contact@lektaris.com.

Article 5 — Subscription and Payment

The pricing terms, renewal conditions, and cancellation procedures are specified on the Decision Circle page.

The Publisher reserves the right to modify prices with 30 days' notice sent by email to the member's address.

Article 6 — Limitation of Liability

Lektaris contents are editorial syntheses for decision-making, not legal, financial, tax or investment advice. The Publisher shall not be liable for any decision made on the basis of these contents.

The Publisher commits to maintaining a high level of editorial quality but does not guarantee completeness or absolute accuracy of information, which reflect the state of academic research at the time of publication.

Article 7 — Personal Data

The collection and processing of user personal data are governed by our Privacy Policy, compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, EU 2016/679).

Article 8 — Modification of Terms

The Publisher reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Users will be notified by email at least 15 days before the effective date of any substantial modification. Continued use of the Site after this period constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Article 9 — Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by French law. For users residing in the Republic of Benin, the provisions of law n°2004-05 of January 14, 2004 apply in addition.

In the event of any dispute relating to the interpretation or performance of these Terms, the parties commit to seeking an amicable solution before any legal proceedings. Failing that, the courts having jurisdiction at the seat of the Publisher shall be solely competent.
