Leïla Salomon's thesis, titled "Numerical Simulation of Free Surface Flows using the Finite Element Method," addresses a major issue for the maritime industry, particularly relevant for coastal countries in West Africa. The developed digital tools aim to overcome the limitations of methods based on Finite Volume formulations, which lack precision and speed, making maritime simulation essential in often unpredictable conditions.
